Deuruxolitinib for Severe Alopecia Areata in Adolescents
A study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Deuruxolitinib in adolescents with severe alopecia areata.
About this study
This randomized study evaluates the JAK1/JAK2 inhibitor Deuruxolitinib in adolescents (ages 12-17) with severe alopecia areata, defined as ≥50% scalp hair loss. Participants are followed over multiple study visits at VMRC for SALT score assessment, photographic documentation, and routine safety labs.
You may qualify if
- Adolescent 12 to 17 years of age
- Diagnosis of severe alopecia areata (SALT ≥ 50%) for at least 6 months
- Caregiver consent and participant assent
- Willing to comply with photographic assessment protocol
You may not qualify if
- Active or chronic infection (e.g. tuberculosis, hepatitis B/C)
- History of malignancy or current immunosuppression
- Prior exposure to systemic JAK inhibitors
- Pregnancy or planning pregnancy during study window
