Linaclotide Safety & Efficacy in Pediatric IBS-C / FC (Ages 6–17)
Long-term safety and efficacy of Linaclotide in pediatric participants ages 6 to 17 with IBS-C or functional constipation.
About this study
A multi-center pediatric study evaluating Linaclotide in adolescents and school-age children diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) or functional constipation (FC). VMRC serves as a clinical site, providing dosing, follow-up visits, lab work, and symptom tracking through validated patient-reported outcome diaries.
You may qualify if
- Child or adolescent between 6 and 17 years of age
- Diagnosis of IBS-C or FC per Rome IV criteria
- Caregiver consent and participant assent (age appropriate)
- Willing to complete daily electronic symptom diary
You may not qualify if
- Secondary causes of constipation (metabolic, anatomical, neurologic)
- Recent abdominal surgery within 6 months
- Concurrent use of prohibited medications
- Inability to swallow study capsules
